Every year members of the United New York Ambulance Network go to our state capital to educate members of the state Legislature on issues that are important to the ambulance industry. Each year we narrow down our list of issues to a manageable number and craft memorandums of support or opposition to specific bills that affect EMS and our member services.
Our annual EMS Lobby Day began as a one-day trip centering on Lobbying and has grown to a two-day event that includes a Recognition Banquet and Reception. The Recognition Banquet is an opportunity for our member services to honor their outstanding employees for their commitment and dedication to the EMS Industry as well as to our patients and fellow employees. Each year more than 100 UNYAN members and company employees attend EMS Lobby Day.
The Reception and a flurry of meetings are all part of the Lobby Day experience for UNYAN members. We come from all over the state to meet with Legislators and display our ambulances in front of the State Capitol Building.
The members of the United New York Ambulance Network have honored certain State Legislators who have, over the years, played an active leadership role acknowledging the critical role our commercial ambulance members play in ensuring the health and safety of New York State residents.
